Business Meeting.
Ad enthusitstio meeting of the
Grant Phis Commercial Olnb was
held in the club rooms, Tuesday even
ing, when in any natters of much im
portance were attended to.
When it canie to the election of of
ficers, Mr. Hall declined to run aain
for preideut, saying that he thought
the honor hould be patiHed around aud
so Mr. Kinney was nauied, hot that
-gentleman withdrew in Mr. Hall's
favor, claiming that Mr. Hall had
made a good official aud should be
retained. The election resulted as
follows:

port made by Sorotary A. T. Marshall,
upon the Industrial Fair affairs. Is
was shown .'that there is a balance of
over fWW now in the hands of the
treaiurer, with but a few outstanding
bills to meet. The showing was very
favorably ooiumouted upon, many
speakers taking occasion to express his
great satisfaction over the results
of the undertaking.
Mr. Marshall's report was substan

Miss Nettie Crooks of Dryden, Mr.
nd Mrs. Fred Rader and Mr. and
Mrs. Oeo. D. Walter of this place
were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. H.
S. Wjnant Sunday.

the dance at Murphy last Thursday
night and all report an enjoyable tima

Thursday after a load of lumber and
it is reported that he is going to
build a new house with it. We won
der what that means?
Mr. and Mrs. Adams and son of
Grauts Pais, who own one of the fine
farms in this vicinity, visited at this
place Sunday.
"Old Glory" was nnfurled to the
breeze on our school house last Satur
day. Oar school is progressing nicely
with Miss Nettie Crooks of Dryden,
as teacher.
Geo. Walter and Victor Dauiels
were at the Pass Saturday on busi
ness.
Oh, yes, and we are beginning to
think about that telephone.
J. D. Wimer passed through our
burg last Saturday.
The Murphy Ditch Company have
taken out their dam and are urenar-
ing for the winter rains. Better a
little early than too late.
Our farmers all say that it is too
late to cut hay as they have all of
theirs in the barns and all report a
plenty.
