Hamilton, the deal bung maae oy Charles Meserve. xue price j am fiO an acre for 1 IS acres of land, which 1 lies on the south side of Rogue Kiver, i a wile east of the Sixth street bridge. ! The improvements consist of a good ' house, barn, 6 acres of bearing orchard !and fiO acres in cultivation, the uncul tivated land to timber. Mr. Hamilton ! r sides at Oregon City, where he for merly was in the mercantile business, ' bnt for the last five years he has oper ' ated a large placer mice on the Yukon river in the British possessions adjoin ' ing Alaska. He will return to the ! Yukon valley in March and having an ! offer at a good price, he will sell his ' miae, after his spring clean-op is coiu j pleted, having a force of men at work ' since his clean-op of laHt year getting 'out the pay gravel. He will reforn to EARTLETT PEARS-Several thong i Oregon City in July and at once move and strictly first-class, one year old I with his family to Grants Pass. Mr. j Hamlin will remain on the place and : care for the orchard and crops until Mr. Hamilton takes possession, when hi will move to South Grants Pass, where he has purchased a house and 2 acrn of land of J. M. Newman. Mr. Hamilton will put the entire nlaee to fruit and the soil and loca tion is such that it will make one of the finest orchards in Rogue River valley. He is now haviug 15 acres planted to Newton and Spit.enberg apples with pencil trees in the alter nate spaces. Following the rule of progressive orchardistg he is setting the trees by the hexagonal system, which puts the trees an equal distance apart and more to the acre than by the WURre method. Mr Hamilton will plant waluuts by tne roadside for the nuts and for shade for he proposes to have road along his premises a haudsome, comfortable driveway. One of the leading factors that in duced Mr. Hamilton to pnl i,000 in land in this vicinity and to expend fully 10,000 more in improving it 'was the excellent high school at Grants Pass. He has several children and being an educated, practical man he desires to give them the best school advantages. The complete business course that the Grants Pass high school has in addition to the classical and scientific courses especially pleased Mr. Hamilton for that would enable him to edocate his children without sending them away from home. Mr. Hamilton is alio a strong ad voctte of good roads and rural mall and telephone lines. Proposition to Build New Court Houne.
