NO EXCUSE FOR CATARRH
Worst Ca-s Quickly Cured by
Breathing Hyomei Guar
anteed by Rotermund.
There is really not the slightest ex
cuse for anyone having catairh, now
that Hyomei is so widely known aud
so easly obtained. The worst cases
of catarrh are qucsly cured, simply
by breathing the remedy through the
pocket inhaler that comes with every
outfit.
Used in this wbv for a few minutes
four times a day, every particle of air
that reaches the. nose, throat and lungs
is laden with gerui-killing a'id health
giving Hyomei.
The sale or the old-fashioned
stomach remedy Is for catarrh has
been teduced to almost nothing since
the introduction of Hyomei. Roth
mund will tell you that bis sales on
this out-of-date line have fallen off at
leust two-thirds in the last few years,
while the demand for Hyomei has in
creased as its curative powers became
more widely known.
The ormplete outfit, consisting of a
neat pocket inhaler, a medicine drop
per, and a bottle of Hyomei costs
only one dollar, while extra bottles
cau be obtained for 60 cents, making
Hyomei the moat economical, as well
as the most reliable method for curing
catarrh.
Rotermnnd positvely guarantees a
cure when Hyomei is used in accord
ance with directions, or be will re
fund the purchase price.
Has Stood the Test 25 Years.
The old. original GROVES' Taste
less Chill Tonic You know what yon

1 Rejoice, my comrades that prohi
I bition iu San Francisco is the real
thing aud according to Mayor Schinitz
' the preaeur. state of things will oon-
tinue for some time regarding the
' saloon.
The Memorial service held in the
Methodist Episcopal Church, May 27,
was well attended, the building being
filled to its ntmost capaoity. The
sermon by the pastor of the chnrch,
Rev. C. O. Beckman, was a masterly
effort, teeming with love and best
wishes for the boys in blue. Among
other dangers to our government be
spoke of the bondage worse than
slavery with which their sons and
daughters must cope, and the dangers
to our national life from the drink
traffic.
Mary H. Hunt, founder and 'World's
and National Superintendent of
Scientifio Temperance Instruction,
has passed on to the larger life be
yond. Hers was a beautiful life full
of the ministry of love and helpful
ness. She was a scientist and made a
life long study of the work. Twenty-
two million ohildren now owe their
knowledge of the effects of alcohol aud
narooticg on the human body to her
devotion. Her reply to the committee
of 50 defending this teaobing was
made senate document.
Before another issue of the Courier
the new officers for County and State
will be chosen by the vote of the
people. The question of the equal
suffrage being extended to women,
and the Liquor Dealer's Amendment
(or rather repeal) of the local option
law and other things will be settled
for t'io time at least. As Ella
Wheeler Wilcox savs, "Nothing is
ever settled uutil it is fettled right,"
and we are wondering what the results
will be. We hope, and confidently
expect, that a largo majority of the
ballots cast on June 4th will say 302
X Yes.
We arrf sure that every true Christ
ian will vote 305 X No, that every
really pairiotio citizin will vote
805 X No, that every voter who has at
heart the best interests of home aud
native land will vote 305 X No. We
have too much confidence in the man
hood of our state to believe that they
will snhmit to thn greater dominance
of the sisloou power. We want to see
good liws enforced and the local
option law left as it stands upon the
statute books of Oregon and as the
citizens of the state bave said by their
votes that it should be. Why whs
this law enacted? Because the best
element in this state wanted it so.
Why are the liquor men promoting
this amendment? Beoanse they wish
to know no law that interferes with 1
their business, to be under no control.
Are not their privileges great enough
already? The form of ballot is mis-
leading and deceptive as it claims to
give prohibitionists and anti-prohibitionists
equal privileges. What
is lair about the temperance people
being required to secure 30 per cent
of the voter's names to a petition be
fore this question can be submitted
to the people. Only 8 per cent were
required for their amendment, and
that id the number needed to vote on
an amendment nnder the initiative.
Js there anythying unfair in the
jpple being allowed to say whether
thn waut saloons, and if they do not
want them in their midst why should
they not have an opportunity to vote
them ont? Other places know the
benefits of prohibition and in our own
state it has been tried in some places
to the satisfaction of good people.
We wish the right to be victorious
and it will be if the good people are
thoroughly aroused to their duty, if
those who do understand will mani
fest interest and lee to it that those
ahout them who do not understand
are shown the fallacy of it.
Many are carelerg, have given It
no thought, and do not realize what
is at stake. The local option law was
drafted by the temperance forces, the
amendment by the liquor men. Our
law was framed following the model
of the Texas law and in that great
state saloons have been banished from
HI oouoties. It is a grand law and
the liquor dealers have spent thous
ands of dollars to defeat it. The
ohorcbes, the Anti-Saloon League,
the W. C. T. U. and all good people
in general wish it retained, and not
mad powerless by amendment. Tbe
Advocate says, "The adoption of this
amendment practically 'turns the state
over to tbeir (the saloons ) control
and gives the temperance forces, the
wived, mothers and children, no hope
