CONDOR WATER & POWER CO., Tclo, Oregon: Gentlemen : I thought it might be of some interest to you to give some kind of a statement as tp what I thought of your centrifugal pump, operated by Electric Motor purchased from you last May. How it works and how it suits me : The Electrrlo Motor I use ia a five horse power belted direct to a three inch centrifugal pump. This pomp will give from 800 to 600 gallons por minute, de pending; on the lift. A three horse power motor, however, would run this pump and give the same amount of water. On one part of my plaoe I had to foroe water 480 feet ou a grade of 12 to 13 feet; 20 feet from well through a four-inch pipe I got from 850 to -100 gallons per minute. Thia elevation I speak of in above the pump. I could pump 500 gallons por minute from my well, day and night all season a up to November 1st. Thla was the last pumping I did in orde' to wet the ground ao I could dig iny treei. ' My well la Ifl feet deep, six foet wide and 13 feet long, with no tnnnels. I estimate that I can irrigate 12 aorea of ground with my pump. Now, as to the working ot the electric pump and motor nei ther have given me any trouble. I could start the motor running on Monday aud it woud - be running Saturday night, if some one would not call around and atop it. My motor ran the season through with only one oiling, but I oiled the pump every morning when I started the "motor, whioh ia all there ia to look after. It gave the leant troublo of any machinery I ever naed. Now, as to what I Accomplish with water I more than trebled the yield in corn and I doubled the apple crop. I had no alfalfa to watar and was not prepared to get wa ter to our garden, but I raised a fine crop of beets on ground that without water would not have raised anything. As to sweet corn ask J. W. Merritt. It was the largest corn I ever saw, and I have raised corn in Iowa and on the Missouri River botton. I am going to grow some more thia year, call aud see it. I used vater ou my seedlings for nursery stock and I am well pleased with the result. I grew 150,000 seedlings, that, without water, I could not have grown, aud aa a result have 1 25. 000 pears budded and grafted aud 25,000 apples, to say nothing of the benefit in other waya. The Electric Pump is the thing. You can have the water where you want it, which every one knows is the essential thing. My children could start aud stop the motor and oil the pump. I consider that there ia no more danger in a motor than ma chinery with cog wheels, aud not as much for children. To close will pleased with the motor and pump, and well pleased iu the way you people have treated me. Hoping you success, 1 am ' Very truly yours, J. S. HAKNETT. Now Altogether !
