association was the purchase of the
black Perohoron stallion Farceur
(55,7V?) 40,037 American registry,
from McLaughlin Bros., of Columbus.
Ohio. The horse has been here for
the past several weeks In charge of
D. E. Kaohford, who has beeu en
deavoring to form an organisation of
the citizous of the valley fur Its pur
chase. Twenty-four people com.,
prlso the association, representing
every sootion of the valloy. The
horso Is two years old aud was Im
ported from France last year. He
was exhibited at tlie St. Louis
World's fair and took drat prise and
two .medals iu an exhibit of a oollu3-
tlou of colts of his ago. At the
Uoyal Livestock show at Kansas Cily
ho also won first prize in bis olass.
His oilloial weight at St. Louis was
1U20 pounds, aud the prioe paid for
him by the It. R. V. S. B. A. was
WOO. Pretty good prioe for horse-
flesh, but the owuurs figure on com in a
out more thau even. The horse oomes
from tho best strains of the Freuoh
black Perohoron blood, and will be
great acquisition to this sootion. The
auimal will be nudur the supervision
of J. W. Lawtou, seorotary of the
association, the headquarters of which
