At the present wrltiug we aro hav ing quite cool weather for this time of the year. People are almost through with the first crop of grass. Oat hay is a moderate crop. Other hay is heavy. We understand that the so-called land agents of Hoscburg, though in the falsehoods that they have circulated regarding the cro in Josephine county they are nothing more than a set of laud sharks, have men out looking for covered wagons that are coming from other status. They halt the immigrants and tell them not to go any farther aouth for Jacksou aud Josephine counties are not raisin enough to feed a grans hnpimr. There ought to lie a law to handle such sharks. People are com ing to Leland to look over the country. Wo give them a true deacription of our county and do not mislead them. Then they can locate or nut as t hoy wish.
