REDFIELD'S 22 REPEATER Southern Or-or M&n Invent New Magazine Gun, E. E. Rcdfield has Invented and con structed is new magazine gun which in novoltj and one of the neatest and best arrangement in Hint lino that liar ever been made. Tho invontion in more particularly for rifles of small calibre and the one lie lias made is a 22, with room In the magazine for bout a dozen short cartridges or abont 10 longs. The gnn lias a pistol grip, with skeleton stock. The shell are loaded near the muzzle end of the magazine and aro pressed to the breech by a spring as in tho ordinary magazine gnn. Ono noteworthy feature of this gnn is that it will work with any length of 22 calibre cartridges. A relator to shoot cartridges of various lengths has been unknown hitherto. The shells of different lengths may Lo mixed in tho magazine at will and each will come np properly in its turn. There is an automatio cut off in tho magazine which lets only one shell out at a time. When the shell comes out of the magazine, a little arrangement siezes it exactly as a pair of hands would grai a stove pipe and lifts it np to be loaded. The lever has a short stroke and is worked by the middle finger, while the first finger mauiim lates tho trigger, giving a rapidity that is marvelous. l!y means of a simple arrangement the lever cockt the gun or leaves the hammer down, at the will of the oiierator. Practical ly, the machinery of tho lock eon ninth of bat two pieces. Tho gun is a new departure and its many advan tageous features are quickly realized by sportsmen who examine it.
