a bad light to reject the same, for no
other than religious or political cause.

GOLD ON RIVER BARS
Precious Metal Cast Up In Shift
ing1 Gravel by Flood.
Many river bars which have been
winked out in the ast will pay to
mine again next summer. Tho high
water shifted the river gravel to such
.in extent that a good di al of gold
can not fail lo have ls-en cast up at
different points. In places where the
gold has been collecting for years,
tin' torrent of the recent flood litis
swept the bedrock clean, to throw out
the gold on some bar lower down,
and Koine lucky river miners will
probably reap golden harvests during
the time of low water in the coming
summer and fall.
A 'THIRTY STAMP MILL
To De Erected Immediately on
Wolf Creek Property.
Body of Ore of Gree.t Richness
Uncovered.
A sensationally rich strike was
recently made in the (Irauite Hill
mines of the Louse creek district,
which uro under development by the
American Gold Fields t!o. of Chicago.
A lsidy of extremely rich ore was mi-
overed in a tunnel which is Is-iug
run at the i:i.r foot level. The extent !
of the rich ore is not dcflnitclv usccr-1
tallied. The values run Irom fjol) to I
f-'iOO to the ton and some of the sam
ples are remarkably beautiful, show
ing free gold in astonishing profusion.
The company is Intending lo install a
mill. of at least JO stamps as soon as
the roads are in condition fur heavy
hauling.
W. 10. Olmstead, manager for the
company that recently purchased the
Hcrihner -Henderson mines near Wolf
Creek, is now at the iroTty, making
arrangements for the installation of a
:tt-stainp mill, which is to Is erected
inside the next ll days. Thero is a
tremendously largo body of ore in
sight and no development iH required
to justify tho erection of a mill of
huge rapacity. The rfirphyry dyke
which produces the gold has been
traced and prospected for a half a
mile in length and is from "ill to UK)
feet ill w idtji. Its depth is as yet an
unknown quantity, but a shaft has
been sunk to a depth of all feet,
gratifying prnspoclH still continuing.
The ore is soft ami can he milled
easily and rapidly, a feature that
doubles the profit on ore of a given
value, Tlie mine should he a big
producer in the near future.
