cause many of the most dangerous and
fatal diseases begin with a cold. To neg
lect a cold is to trifle with danger.
Oflset this statement that colds cost the
insurance companies a million dollars a
month by another statement; aimost every
life represented by thr.t million dollars
could have been saved
Dr. Pierce's Golden
It cures colds, coughs, bronchitis, lung
disease, hemorrhage and conditions generally
which by neglect or unskillful treatment find a
fatal termination in consumption. That these
cures are perfect and
thousands of representative men and women,
including clergymen and physicians.
" I took a severe cold which settled in tbe bronchial
tubes," writes Rev. 1'raiik Hay, of Nortonville, Jetierton
io.f Kansas. "Atu-r trying medicines labele-l 'Sure
Cure,' almost without number, I was led to Irv Dr. Tierce's Gulden Medical Dic
covery. I took two bottles and was cured, ami have stayed cured. When I think
of the (;reat pain I lmd to endure, and the terrible cough I had, it sceins almost a
nuracic mat i was so soon relieved.,
" In 1898, one of my daughters was suffering on account of a severe courh, hectic fever, wast
ing of llesh and other oympto-ns of diseased lungs," writes Rev. Joseph II. l 'er.p-.-ruian, of Barium
Springs, Iredell Co., N. C. " I promptly gave her Pr. K. V. l ierce's Golden Medical Discovery
with gratifying success, and the now enjoys excellent Iw-.nlth. This experieucu c.:usc 1 me to
recommend Dr. Pierce's remedies to my neighbors, who, without exception, used them with
favorable results. This bcingtrue, I hereby heartily endorse your medicines."
Tor twelve years I was a sufferer from catarrh and was treated by one of the he"t physicians
in the ftute of North Carolina, who said the trouble had reached mv limps," writes Air J. U
l'atton, of Clotho, Transylvania Co., N. C. "I grew worse everv day' until' I tried Dr. I'ierce's
medicines. Will say Dr. Tierce's Golden Medical Discovery with'one bottle of Pr t'.age's C-.t irrh
Remedy cured me and to-day I am well nml he.rtv, and I will say further, that my former phy
sician, Pr. W. M. I.yday, recommends Pr. Tierce's medicine to me and to others I cm sure
your medicines will cure any case of catarrh that exists. I recommend them to all."
"I was troubled with a bad cold, which settled on my lunj-s and left me with a miserable
cough," writes Mr. Joseph P. Ilurns, of 31S Iluestis Street, Ithaca, N. Y. "I uvd two bo' ties of
' Golden Medical Discovery, ' after which my cough disappeared entirely. I cannot recommend
your medicine too highly. '
These statements are made by representative people. They are reliable state
ments, and those who are guided by them need not swell the list of victims who die
of colds. One of the dangers of a cold, especially as it iprogrersses, is that people
will be content to use some syrup or preparation based on opium, and think they
are safe. Such things are mere palliatives. They soothe and quiet but they do
not retard the progress of disease. Doubtless everyone of the victims cf colds
used something with the intention of being cured. But they failed to use the one'
thing which would cure them, Dr. Pierce's Golden Medical Discovery. It always
helps. It almost always cures. There is no alcohol in the "Discovery." -It is a
true tonic, building up the body with solid flesh and enriching the blood with the
red corpuscles of health.
Do not allow a dealer to palm off on you a substitute for "Golden Medical Dis
covery," claiming it to be "just as good." The record of those who have tried
"medicines almost without number" and found no cure until they used the "Dis
covery," proves there is no other medicine "just as good" for colds, coughs, and
lung diseases.
