SHOT FOR A DEER.
Albert Teal of Lcland was shot by
his brother William in the forests of
Northern Josephine county last Fri
day. The shooting was accidental,
William mistaking his brother for a
door, shooting him with a Winches
ter, the ball penetrating tho right
thigh, inflicting a very serious wound.
Tho two men were out hunting in
tho mountains of Gravo creek and
were walking through tho heavily
timbered region, ouo on each side of
a gulch. William Teal saw au object
moving np the distant mountain side
which he supposed waa a deer. He
fired at it and was horrified to hear
his brother scream in pain. Ho rush
.ed across and found that he had made
a sad mistake he had shot his broth
er. There was no one near, the closest
houso being (some miles distant. He
secured aid as quickly as possible and
tho wounded nmu was carried out of
the mountains, a distance of six miles.
Albert Teal waa brought to Grants
Pass on Saturday morning's train for
medical treatment He suffered much
from the loss of blood. The physi
cians were unable to locate tho bullet,
but they feel confident that the wound
ed man will recover unless some com
plications arise later on that are not
known at the present time.
The Lateet Yarn.
A Pittsburg drummer tells this yarn,
I always carry a bottle of Kemp's
Balsam in my grip, I take cold easily
and a few doses of the Balsam always
makes me a well man. Everywhere I
go I speak a good word for Kemp. I
take hold of my customers I lake old
men and young men, and tell them
confidentially what I do when I take a
cold. At druggist, 2fc. and 60c.
