Clarkson was arraigned injustice Hoi
man' court Wednesday morning under
the charge ot stealing hats from K. C
Dixon' store. Mr. Dixon had received
a new stock of hats on Monday and had
nncased them In the rear of the store
building. Clarkson was gathering junk
in the alley back of the store Tuesday
morning and evidently entered the store
through the back door and helped him
self to two boxes ol bat. He discarded
the boies in the alley and put the hats
in a sack which he hil under the Sugar
Pine ware bouse, first selling one of the
bats to I. M. Davis for 25 cent. Mr,
Davis noticing the Dixon mark on the
bat, called Mr. Dixon' attention to the
matter. The latter bad noted the
absence of the bate and, searching tho
alley, found the boxes. The man wa

Another Meadows Panther.
An Ashland dispatch in the Telegram

country, killed a big panther last week
on Evans creek, under circumstances

measured nine feet in length, gave blm
