Many of them are answered by mail; others are grouped aud anawereii in "Concentrates." the questions them selves being omitted to save space; several of the questions each seek have either been answered recently, or are luqioMible of satisfactory reply. As is natural at this season of the year a large percentage of ths preesnt inquiries re lates to locations, assessment woik, etc. This paper does not undertake to an swer any such question authoritatively, but in cases involving property values it is always more ultimately satisfactory to get competent legal opinion. This 'aet advice was recently g iven an Idaho man who wrote asking if ne could relocate an abandoned property with a 5-elatnp mill on it, but he writes back that though "all the lawyers" up there tell him “he can take up the property and do what he likea with the 5 stamp mill,’* yet, lie hesitates and wants "to know what the Mining and Sciwnliflc Press thinks about it." As is often the case simultaneously with this query comes one from Nevada City, Cal., with precisely the same prop osition involved, another from Prescott, Arizona, a fourth similar case from Utah. The Nevada City man argues it a little in Ins letter. He says: "The parties who put up the mill failed to do their assessment work with in the time required by taw. Can I lo cale the claim and hold the mill to the exclusion of the men who put it there ami owned it up to the time they (ailed to do their assess inent work?
