The News sustains the findings of the committee, while the Oregonian denies its truth and says Roberts is guilty. 'The question of incorporating our Ix-atitiful little city has become a very hot one. It has engaged the special attention of the entire legi- lative acumen. After all there i*> not so much difference of opinion among our people on that question as may lx- imagined. It looks as if it is the old county seat w«r being fought over- the result of an old OUR FAULTS. Much is being written and sa;d nowdays lauding the greatness and goodnes- of Southern Oregon. The distant reader believes a great deal of this to lie true, but he naturally askes himself what faults Southern Oregon has. He finally concludes she must have faults, and wonders what they arc. Fcr-onal strife and petty jealousies are the greatest faults the country has, and these lie with the people themselves. All manner of enterprise involving the outlay of a large amount < f capital in an isolated country like this has been, require, to be carefully and closely managed or success is ini possible. This close management has in too many cases resulted in prejudice against the capital so in tested, and j- i-oiial war against the projectors to an extent that is truly appalling. The least littc thing 11...... ai.d up comes the bristles. L this not so? We have beyond doubt, one of the fines' climates on the face of th.- globe, and the country j, good enough fora king’s final resting place.
