By Bruce Dustin Warrenton man remains at large after shooting Seaside Police seek the pub- lic’s help in locating a War- renton man wanted for ques- tioning in a shooting. The agency received a re- port about 2:45 p.m. Sunday that a gunshot victim was being treated at Providence Seaside Hospital. Officers soon learned the victim had been shot at his home and then drove himself to the hospital for treatment, according to Seaside Police. The victim’s wounds were Morinville in 2019 and 2022 not life-threatening, but the victim was moved to a Port- land-area hospital for con- tinuing medical care. The two men knew each other and police do not be- lieve the shooting was a ran- dom encounter. The suspect was identified as Jeremy Lee Morinville, 24. Morinville, who recently was released from prison, was not in custody Wednesday and should be considered armed and dangerous, police said. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call 911 or contact Sgt. Josh Gregory at 503-738-6311. Property Tax Appeals board needs members The Clatsop County Board of Commissions seeks appli- cants interested in serving on the County Board of Property Tax Appeals for the 2022-23 term. The appeals board hears petitions from taxpayers seeking to decrease their real market or assessed value of real and personal property. The board holds one to five meetings in February and March to hear petitions and adjourns no later than April 15, 2023, with the term end- ing June 30, 2023. Applicants should: • Have a working knowl- edge of the local real estate market, both residential and commercial, • Have skills in mediation, real estate appraisal, financ- ing or a related background. • Be familiar with Oregon property tax. Applicants must be resi- dents of Clatsop County, but they cannot be employees of the county or of any taxing district within the county. The wooden sign for War- renton Community Library was donated by Blaine Gun- kel, a chainsaw carver from Ocean Park, Wash. Library Director Kelly Knudsen’s husband, Eric, asked Gun- kel if he could come up with a sturdier sign marker after seeing the library’s canvas sign hanging sideways.
