Fisheries Commission, which
governs fishing programs in
Oregon, Washington, Idaho
and Montana, has developed
a program to prevent delays
during the transport of wa-
tercraft.
“Call Before You Haul” pro-
vides a toll-free phone num-
ber that boat transporters
can call prior to moving wa-
tercraft from outside the Pa-
cific Northwest to one of the
aforementioned states.
The program is being pilot-
ed in 10 states and is intend-
ed to be expanded to every

states, including penalties up

felony.
Much of the ongoing spread
of aquatic invasive species to
inland waters can be attribut-
ed to the overland movement
of watercraft.
