Debbie, a member of the Coast Guard
Canine Explosive Detection Team in Seattle,
is prepared to be lowered from a helicop-
ter onto a research vessel in the Columbia
River. Last week’s training was assisted by
members of the Coast Guard’s Air Station
Astoria. The boat was operated by instructors
from MERTS, Clatsop Community College’s
Marine and Environmental Research Training
Station.

Columbia Memorial Hos-
pital went live last week with
a new website aimed at pro-
viding a more user-friendly
experience to the patients
and employees.
The site features a provid-
er directory, an intelligent
search tool and the Coffey’s
Health Information Library
and e-newsletters, which of-
fer health news, interactive
infographics, assessments,
quizzes and calculators.
