It is sponsored by Spruce Up Warrenton and is free In addition to a wrap- around-the-park trunk-or- treat, there will be a petting zoo sponsored by 4H, carni- val games, a pumpkin patch, craft booths, food carts and hayrides. The fire department may even have a pumpkin toss us- ing a trebuchet. Astoria Trick-or-Treat -- Astoria Downtown His- toric District Association is sponsoring trick or treating from 3 to 5 p.m. To participate, children must wear a costume and a face covering. Participating shops will have a sign out in front. Halloween Happenings -- Seaside Downtown Devel- opment Association sponsors the annual two-day event with most merchants partic- ipating. Today is a pet parade at 10 a.m., carnival booths on upper Broadway from noon to 3 p.m., a giant pumpkin October 29, 2021 drop near the Turnaround at 3 p.m., and a trunk-or-treat from 4 to 5 p.m. on Broadway between Columbia Street and the Turnaround. Boo Bash -- Emerald Heights, the large apartment complex at the east end of Astoria, is sponsoring its first ever Halloween party for all Clatsop County children. There will be games, a cos- tume contest, free school supplies and trick-or-treat- ing. The bash begins at 4 p.m. at the clubhouse, 1 Emerald Drive. Doggie Howloween – If you don’t mind a drive to Cathlamet, Wash., the Wah- kiakum Chamber of Com- merce is sponsoring dog-ori- ented events beginning at 1 p.m. in the covered area at Erickson City Park, off Co- lumbia Street along the wa- terfront east of the bridge. Included in the free event is a dog costume contest, doggy pie-eating contest, a pet psy- chic and a raffle benefitting WAAG, the local animal ad- vocacy group. Donations of canned pet food, blankets, newspaper or litter will be collected. All dogs must be on nonretract- able leashes and up-to-date on vaccinations. Sunday, Oct. 31 Trunk-or-Treat at Lighthouse Church – The free event is open to the pub- lic from 4 to 6 p.m. and in- cludes booths, games, trick- or-treating and a cake walk. Lighthouse Christian Church is at 88786 Dellmoor Loop, just south of Warren- ton. Halloween Happenings -- Seaside Downtown Devel- opment Association sponsors the annual weekend event. Today is a witches’ pad- dle at 11:30 a.m. at Quatat Park, and trick-or-treating at downtown businesses (look for an orange pumpkin in the front windows) from 2 to 4 p.m. Next weekend Fall Vendor Fair -- Pa- cific Grange on Highway 101 south of Warrenton is the site of three-day holiday harvest event. The thrift market is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 5, 6, and 7 at the grange, 90475 High- way 101. Included are local vendors carrying homemade gifts, antiques, jewelry, and other products.
