Friday, Saturday, and Sun- days beginning Oct. 15 and running through Halloween. There is an admission fee and canned goods are accepted for the Clatsop Community Action Food Bank. The KOA is at 1100 N.W. Ridge Road in Hammond. The Weir A haunted house in rural Ireland is the subject of the play “The Weir” presented by Ten Fifteen Productions. The setting is a bar where the local men swap spooky stories in an attempt to im- press a young woman from Dublin, who recently moved into the town’s purported “haunted” house. Howev- er, the tables turn when she spins a frightening yarn of her own. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 3:30 p.m. Sundays Oct. 15-30 at the playhouse, 1015 Commercial St., Astoria. Tickets are $20 and avail- able at thetenfifteentheater. com/tickets. Proof of vacci- nation is required to enter the theater. BloodyVox Promoters of this pro- fessionally done show tout BloodyVox as a dance event with a touch of Hitchcock, Vampira, ghosts and zom- bies. The show is produced by two Emmy Award-winning choreographers and includes lots of wit mixed in with the delightfully creepy show. Since its founding in 1997, the dance troupe BodyVox has toured to critical ac- claim on stages around the world, developed nine films, 30 shows and three operas. BloodyVox is their Hallow- een show. The family-friendly show is at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, at the Liberty Theatre, 1203 Commercial St., Asto- ria. Tickets are $18-$27 and available at libertyastoria. showare.com. All tickets will be held at the box office. Proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test is required. Pet Costume Contest Safe Harbor Animal Hospi- tal in Warrenton is having a pet costume contest. To enter, visit the clinic’s Facebook page and give it a “like.” Then take a photo of your pet in costume and post it in the comment section of the contest announcement by Oct. 29. Winners will be announced after Halloween. Witches, Waffles, Etc. “Witches, Wizards and Waffles,” a mini event that includes entertainment and food, is set for 6:30 p.m. Fri- day, Oct. 29 and at 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at the Garden of Surging Waves in downtown Astoria. The free event is sponsored by Sparrow Dance Compa- ny. It is 30 minutes long and most appropriate for pre- schoolers and early elemen- tary students. Children are encouraged to wear costumes and all those attending must observe CDC guidelines. Warrenton Fall Festival Warrenton Fall Festival is a large outdoor celebration of fall and Halloween. The free event is 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at Robinson Communi- ty Park, Fourth and Alder streets. It is sponsored by Spruce Up Warrenton. In addition to a wrap- around-the-park trunk-or- treat, there will be a petting zoo sponsored by 4H, carni- val games, a pumpkin patch, craft booths, food carts and hayrides. Boo Bash Emerald Heights, a 300- unit apartment complex at the east end of Astoria, is sponsoring its first ever Boo Bash, which is open to all children. There will be games, a cos- tume contest, free school supplies and trick-or-treat- ing. The bash begins at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at 1 Emer- ald Drive. Halloween Happenings Seaside Downtown Devel- opment Association sponsors the annual Halloween Hap- penings trick-or-treat and more event. Most downtown merchants participate and there is a pet parade, dance party, and out- door carnival. The event is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 30 and 31. Oaks Park Oaks Park, Portland’s amusement park, turns into the ScareGrounds from 3 to 11 p.m. Oct. 8-31. There are three haunted at- tractions, including The Con- demned, EViLUTION, and Grimthorne Manor haunted houses, plus the event in- cludes the House of Horrors Scarezone, Graveyard Pump- kin Patch, and a Scream Par- lor Photo Op. Those 12 and younger can go trick-or-treating during select hours on the midway and carousel, and train rides will be free.
