Debra Lee Reed, 60, of Astoria was cited for second-de- gree theft after she allegedly attempted to leave the store without paying for merchan- dise, including pet and cleaning products. • Shoplifting, 3 p.m. July 18, Walmart. Christopher D. Wright, 22, of Kalama, Wash., was cited for second-degree theft after he allegedly attempted to leave the store without paying for a $199 Cricut die-cut printer. • Counterfeit $50 bill, 11:08 a.m. July 19, Wauna Federal Credit Union. Michael L. McBride, 24, no known address, was arrested on a warrant from St. Helens Police Department and for unlawful possession of methamphet- amine. Suspicious circumstances and disturbances • Transient camp on private property, 1:45 p.m. July 13, Highway 101 at the power lines between Kia and Ocean Crest. Kevin R. Hebert, 57, no known address, and Lori A. Lagerquist, 29, no known address, were cit- ed for criminal trespassing. Driver cited for driving while suspended. Sewer district fined by DEQ • Traffic stop, 7:30 p.m. July 18, Harbor Drive at Marlin Avenue. Driver cited for having no opera- tor’s license. Sundown Sanitary District southeast of Astoria was one of four agencies and busi- nesses receiving penalties from the Department of En- vironmental Quality for envi- ronmental violations. The agency was fined $1,200 for exceeding the sus- pended solid limits allowed in its wastewater permit, a violation that can impact hu- man health, fish and other aquatic life. The violation oc- curred in November. Other violators and fines were city of Baker City, $8,924; McFarlane’s Bark of Milwaukie, $12,894; and Octave Labs of Pleasant Hill, $81,681. Those fined have 20 days to appeal or pay the fine. Sundown was formed in 1972 to serve the River Point housing project and has 115 residential customers. • Two-vehicle collision, no injuries, 5:27 p.m. July 20, Fred Meyer gas pumps. A debit card stolen from one of the vehicles was used Tuesday by a man wearing a mask at Fred Meyer. “Note that the suspects set off a car alarm twice, but no one checked on it and no one called the police to check the area,” Chief Matt Workman said. “Please call, especially if you hear a car alarm at 4 a.m.” Anyone with information about the crimes, or who may have witnessed suspicious activity at any of the three locations, is asked to contact Officer Robert Wirt at rwirt@ ci.warrenton.or.us or 503- 325-8661.
