plore you to invest your time wise-
ly and to live each day as if it were
your last. Tell people how much
they matter to you. Take up a new
hobby. Apply for that job. … I en-
courage you to live intentionally
and to be tenacious in everything
you do.”
The June 11 ceremony for the
103rd graduating class of War-
renton High School began with
singing of the National Anthem
by classmate Marlie Annat and a
brief talk by Principal Josh Jan-
nusch.
“Graduation is an exciting time,”
Jannusch said. “It’s both an end-
ing and a beginning. This year in
particular is filled with memories.
… This year is one like no other
for us. Your class has taken all the
changes in stride. We definitely
had to do things in a different way
this year and you excelled.”
Salutatorian Ann Heyen told
classmates they’re graduating
with a true understanding of what
it means to be a Warrior.
“Despite the fact our mascot is
a purple W, the class of 2021 has
embodied the spirit of a warrior
more than any other class.”
Before diplomas were handed
out by the school board, those
gathered were treated to a slide
show of their high school years as
well as home snapshots of the se-
niors as children.
