April 16, 2021 Junior Ranger event kicks off park week National Park Week kicks off Saturday, April 17, and Lewis and Clark National Historical Park is focusing on youth events. Junior Rangerpalooza 2021 runs through April 24. To participate, children and teens can stop by the Fort Clatsop Visitor Center on Saturday and pick up a ranger book (there is a limited sup- ply). Each day will have a different ac- tivity. Saturday’s activity is the Na- tional Historic Trail, followed by activities centering on sounds, the night, railroads, space and fishing. There will be Junior Ranger dis- plays throughout the park and a virtual “swearing in” of all junior rangers on the park’s Facebook page on April 24. The Lewis & Clark National Park Association Bookstore will carry special Junior Ranger items during the week as well. Fort Clatsop is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 503-861-2471.
