IN THE CIRCUIT COURT OF THE STATE OF OREGON FOR THE COUNTY OF CLATSOP In the Matter of the Estate of BENJAMIN D. All persons whose rights may be affected by the proceedings may obtain additional information from the records of the Court, the Personal Repre- sentative, or the lawyer for the Personal Representative, Jeremy Rust. Dated and first published on March 26, 2021. Jeremy Rust, OSB No. 094927 Attorney for Personal Representative Seaside Attorneys 842 Broadway Seaside, Oregon 97138 Post Office has been set up to fail When I recently read an ar- ticle about financial institu- tions adapting their payment processes to the new slower mail, it reminded me of my December experience. It is in no way the fault of the postal employees; we have been spoiled by really good mail service in the past. Now you need to allow several ex- tra days for deliveries. I ordered some meds from my physician in Lake Oswego in mid-December. First Class mail of my small package took eight days to arrive in War- renton from Lake Oswego. At about the same time, I mailed a three-day priority pack to my daughter in Alaska, and it took 11 days. Christmas cards sent to the grandkids took 21 days to be delivered. Current modernizations to our mail service have not had good results, and the Postal Service, and only the Postal Service, still is being stran- gled by a government-man- dated employment account- ing program that sets them up to fail. When the push for privat- ization of the U.S. Postal Ser- vice appears, as it will, please remember how well Enron did when California power was privatized.
