Journot, 31, no known address, was cited for second-degree theft after he allegedly walked out of the store with a $129 12-volt jump-starter. After being confronted by store security, he left the item and ran into bushes. He was located Dec. 16 by police, who recognized him on store surveillance videos. • Shoplifting, 5:15 p.m. Dec. 12, Fred Meyer. Shauna M. Meeting on elk set in Gearhart The city of Gearhart will hold a special work session on elk management at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29. Mayor Paulina Cockrum will preside over the meeting which includes an introduc- tion to Oregon Solutions and the Clatsop Plains Elk Proj- ect. Guest speakers are Manu- el Padilla, Oregon Solutions project manager, and Paul Atwood, assistant district wildlife biologist for Ore- gon Department of Fish and Wildlife. They’ll provide information about the elk management subcommittee, elk trends in Gearhart, culling, and elk movement corridors. There will be time at the end of the meeting for ques- tions and answers. The meeting will be held virtually through the GoTo- Meeting application.
