8 The Columbia Press November 20, 2020 Upcoming events Liberty gala offers ballet, music, tour Liberty Theatre will hold its first virtual gala fundraiser with music and dance performances at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21. The program includes perfor- mances by Angela Meade of the Met- ropolitan Opera, 45th Parallel Uni- verse Orchestra, and Horse Feath- ers, a soul-genre band with heavy Meade instrumentals. There also will be short video tributes from Astoria School of Ballet and Liberty Theatre board President, Ted Osborn. The gala also will provide a tour of the theater’s new vestibule, box office, and concession stand. The event is free and can be viewed live from the theater’s website, libertyastoria.org/gala. Messiah sing-along also a fundraiser North Coast Chorale will pres- ent a virtual Handel’s Messiah sing-along at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29. The event is a fundraiser for Clatsop Community Action’s Regional Food Bank. The sing- along will air live on the CCA Facebook page, facebook.com/ clatsopcommunityactioncca. Local instrumentalists and so- loists will be filmed so those in- terested can sing or play along in the comfort and safety of their homes.
