Calling all junior naturalists for online camp Wildlife Center of the North Coast will hold its popular Junior Naturalist Summer Camp online this year. Summer camp is sched- uled for 8 a.m. to noon daily July 27-31. “We know many families are struggling financial- ly right now, and so we are offering our camp free of charge,” organizers said. Camp T-shirts and supplies can be purchased for an ad- ditional cost and donations will be accepted for camper families who are able. NCLC was formed in 1986 and is based in Seaside. It owns thousands of acres in Lincoln, Tillamook and Clat- sop counties. The gathering is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3. Manage diabetes with help of class A monthlong class in self-managing diabetes be- gins Tuesday, Aug. 4. The program by Columbia Memorial Hospital has been recognized by the American Diabetes Association for quality education and sup- port. The class provides one- on-one consultation with a certified diabetes educa- tor or registered nurse and a registered dietitian, who will help participants set personalized diabetes plana. Four in-depth classes will show ways to put the plan into action. There is a charge for the course, which may be cov- ered by insurance. A family member or friend can attend at no additional charge.
