Firefighters also will get $180,000 in self-con- tained breathing equipment – with a grant expected to cover $171,000 of it. The lack of proper safety equipment was one of the items brought out in an Occupational Safe- ty and Health complaint last year. Replacement of many of the city’s aging water and sewer pipes also are in the plan.
