We put eight wrestlers into the finals and won six. It was a great day to watch Warrenton wrestling. We were happy for our families and supporters to see our team do so well. Junior Sam Irwin took a first at 195, winning his second tournament of the year. Sam had the biggest weight class of the night and won three big matches to take the title. Josh Neihuser wrestled up and over his head at 170 and took a second. Alex Tapia wrestled his first match- es of the year and won the 160-pound bracket. Junior Nic Pior won the 145-pound bracket and took home the award for Outstanding Light- er Weight Wrestler of the tournament. The award was decided by the coaches and showed that people have noticed the work Nic has put into this sport. Senior Armin Rodriquez took home the title at 138 after pinning all three opponents in under three minutes of mat time. At 132, Parker Green- awald beat teammate fresh- man Raul Molina to claim the title in his first tournament of the year. Austin Atwood won the 120-pound title and is get- ting better every week.
