Participants will receive hot tea and pastries, plus a self-guided tour of the Victo- rian mansion. Tickets are $12, with a $4 discount for Clatsop County Historical Society members. Garden fair is at fairgrounds A spring plant sale and gar- den fair is set for 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at the Clatsop County Fair & Expo, 92937 Walluski Loop, Asto- ria. at 503-738-9126. Work- ers should bring water and lunch and wear sturdy boots and gloves. There are no toi- lets or potable water on site. There will be organic to- matoes, herbs, perennials, natives and coastal favorites as well as vendors, raffles and kids activities. Admission is free and sponsored by the Clatsop County Master Gardeners Association. Golf ball drop is an AL fundraiser The Assistance League of the Columbia Pacific will have a golf ball drop fund- raiser Saturday, May 11, at the Astoria Golf and Coun- try Club, 33445 Sunset Beach Road, Warrenton. Tickets are $10 and must be purchased in advance at Holly McHone Jewelers in Astoria or The Sweet Shop in Gearhart. All proceeds will be used to purchase clothes for needy children in Clatsop County. Ticket numbers are writ- ten on the golf balls, which will be dropped from a heli- copter over a practice green at the country club after 3 p.m. on event day. Prizes will be given to tick- et holders of the five balls closest to the pin.
