Homecoming game brings 42-18 Warrior win

Warrenton’s football team
took a commanding lead at
half time against the visit-
ing Vernonia Loggers during
during last Friday night’s
homecoming game.
They continued to domi-
nate in the second half, walk-
ing away with a 42-18 win.
“Our kids played really well
and attacked on both sides
of the ball,” Head Coach Ian
O’Brien said. “It was nice to
see us respond this way af-
ter a bye week and the tough
loss at Knappa.”
Quarterback Jake Morrow
had 270 yards rushing and
four touch downs.
“We knew this game was
going to be tough,” said Mor-
row, a junior.
“We knew it was going
to be an intensely physical
game. And we prepared for
that,” Morrow said. “Our de-
fensive linemen and, in fact,
everybody on our defensive
team, stood out and played
well.”
The Warriors are back in
action tonight, Oct. 12, at
Neah Kah Nie.
