Anglers and hunters also have the option of purchasing licenses and tags at agents, such as Fred Meyer, Big 5 Sporting Goods and Main Street Market, but no special paper or computer equip- ment will be needed by the businesses. The new system is expected to save $2 million annually, thanks to the elimination of specialty paper and computer equipment and overall lower system costs. “Customers have been ask- ing for the ability to carry tags on their mobile phones and for a more mobile-friendly system,” said Curt Melcher, ODFW director. “We’re pleased this new system will bring both cost savings and an improved cus- tomer experience for Oregon’s hunters and anglers.” Public Safety Calls T hursday • Clatsop County Board of Commissioners, 6:30 p.m., 857 Commercial St., Astoria.
