ish Nunnally, the opening
act. Azar’s music is a mix of
country, rock and blues and,
since B.B. King’s death in
2015, he’s performing with
the legendary bluesman’s

the show staring at 3 p.m.
The park is on Alder Avenue,
behind City Hall and adja-
cent to the community cen-
ter. There will be food avail-

Residents and visitors can
fish, crab or clam anywhere
in the state without a license
or tag on Saturday and Sun-
day (Monday isn’t included).
Area closures, bag limits
and other restrictions still
apply. The next free fishing
weekend is Nov. 23 and 24.

to dean’s list
Two Warrenton students
were named to the dean’s
list for spring term at East-
ern Oregon University in La
Grande.
Abby Mathews and Noni
Webster both maintained
a 3.5 or higher grade-point
average while completing at
least 12 hours of coursework
during the term.

those age 50-plus
Clatsop Community Col-
lege presents its fifth annual
Conference on Extraordinary
Living for people age 50 plus
from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sat-
urday, Sept. 8, in Columbia
Hall on campus.
The event includes infor-
mation about using smart
phones, disaster prepared-
ness, tai chi and yoga, travel
for seniors, financial plan-
ning and staying physically
and mentally active. Food
carts will provide lunch; Wal-
greens will provide flu shots.
Sponsors suggest a dona-
tion of $10. Transportation
will be provided for those
who need it by Providence
Seaside Hospital; schedule a
pickup by Sept. 1 by calling
