Wauna donates
to Astoria High
Wauna Credit Union has
donated $6,500 to Astoria
High School’s Net Shed, a
free shop for students.
In its seven years, the non-
profit shop has given away
more than 32,000 items of
clothes, shoes, undergar-
ments, hygiene products and
costume jewelry to students
and their families.
“It is set up to look just like
a store in the mall,” said Lin-
da Ho-Martin, founder and
director. “Students come and
shop for whatever they want
always for free.”
Wetland exchange
helps Fort George
Clatsop County’s Board of
Commissioners
approved
a permanent conservation
easement on 40 acres of
county-owned wetlands as
a way to help Fort George
build its warehouse and tast-
ing room in the North Coast
Business Park.
The easement fulfills the
county’s obligation to min-
imize damage to wetlands
as part of the 2016 sale of
10 acres to Big Beams LLC,
the construction arm of the
brewpub’s operations.
The conservation easement
means the county’s land will
be off limits to development.
Radio Shack to
close Aug. 25

Warrenton’s Radio Shack for
30 years, will close by the end
of the month.

sold a wide variety of elec-
tronics, from citizen-band
and ham radio equipment to
cell phone signal boosters.
Nearly everything in the
store is at 50 percent off.
