This weekend Symphony presents pops concert with 100 musicians Columbia River Sympho- ny presents a summer pops concert Saturday with the Beacock Music, Concert, Stage and Swing Band from Vancouver, Wash. The concert will be at 7 p.m. Aug. 11 in the auditori- um at Astoria High School, 1001 W. Marine Drive. The concert is part of Asto- ria Regatta. Admission is free and fami- lies are encouraged. Astoria park is site of free family movie nights Astoria Parks and Recreation Department has organized three free family movies in the park. The annual tradition pro- vides an opportunity to expe- rience cinematic magic in an outdoor setting. Movies are on Wednesdays and begin at dusk in Fred Lindstrom Memorial Park, Sixth and Niagara streets. Last Wednesday, partici- pants saw “A Wrinkle in Time,” sponsored by Arbor Care.
