A public reception for the artists is at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 5, in the gallery. “Empathies and Energies” takes its name from the com- ingling of Boyden’s dry-point Frank Boyden’s “Democracy” etchings of anguished faces with the fire and light that McKitterick and Bergeman use to create their ceramics and infrared photographs. The vote came during the commit- tee’s March 26 meeting. Taylor will fill Thompson’s unexpired term until the Taylor party’s regu- lar elections in November. Taylor is retired and served as chairman from 2006-16. “I am honored to be asked to serve in a leadership capac- ity,” Taylor said. “We are seeing increased fervor for the ideals our party represents at the local, state and national level, and I am excited to help elect people who share that fervor.” The committee comprises the precinct committee lead- ers elected or appointed from precincts throughout Clat- sop County. The committee meeting is held the fourth Monday of each month and all Democrats are invited to attend. For more information, go to www.clatsopdemocrats.org.
