St. Mary Star of the Sea in
Astoria and St. Francis de
Sales Mission in Hammond
have several events during
Lent.
Stations of the Cross, fol-
lowed by a soup and bread
supper, are held at 6 p.m. Fri-
days in Star of the Sea School’s
auditorium, 1411 Grand Ave.,
Astoria. Parishioners are en-
couraged to bring meatless
soups in crockpots and bread.
Saturday Vigil Mass is at 4
p.m. Saturday at St. Francis
de Sales, 867 Fifth Ave. Sun-
day Mass is at 8:30 a.m. Sun-
days at Star of the Sea, 1465
Grand Ave., Astoria, with a
bilingual Mass at 11 a.m.
Knights of Columbus has a
spaghetti dinner fund-raiser
from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday,
Feb 17, in the auditorium.
Cost is $12 for adults, $5 for
those younger than 10, or $30
for a family.
The meal includes spaghetti
with meat sauce, green sal-
ad, garlic bread and beverag-
es. Desserts will be available
from the youth group.
A ministry fair is at noon
Sunday, Feb. 18, in the audi-
torium. There will be break-
fast goodies, fellowship, a
raffle (bring two or more pan-
try food items to participate)
and kids activities in the gym.
All the ministries will have
booths for members to join
and learn of their goals.
The “40 Days for Life” will
be said each Tuesday of Lent
beginning at 6:15 p.m. Feb.
20 with a rosary will be re-
cited on the Clatsop County
Courthouse steps to support
life.

A public hearing is scheduled before the Warrenton City Commission
at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 27, 2018 in the Commission Chambers,
Warrenton City Hall, 225 S Main Avenue, Warrenton, regarding an appeal
of four conditions attached to the approval of a conditional use permit and
site design review applications for development of a 66-unit apartment
complex submitted by Palmberg Development and Construction, LLC.
The subject property is located on the east side of SE Jetty Avenue and SE
13th Street and includes Tax Lots 81027BA02400, 02600, 04100, 04000,
and 04200.
This appeal will be reviewed under the procedures, applicable standards
and criteria in Warrenton Municipal Code Chapters 16.220 Conditional

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Warrenton City Commission will conduct a public hearing at 6:00
P.M. February 27, 2018 at the Warrenton City Hall, Commission Chamber
regarding an application submitted by Jennifer Bunch of Wickiup Consult-
ing LLC on behalf of Stanley Johnson, Astoria Northwest Homes Inc., to
rezone Tax Lot 81028AD02500 from R10 Intermediate Density Residen-
tial to RH High Density Residential. The subject property consists of 0.76
acres and is located on the east bank of the Skipanon River and north side
of Highway 104 Spur.
This application will be reviewed under the procedures, standards and
criteria in Warrenton Municipal Code 16.36 High Density Residential
District and 16.232 Land Use District Map and Text Amendments and
Warrenton Municipal Code 16.208.060 Type IV Procedure (Legislative
and Map Amendments) although it is considered a quasi-judicial action.
All evidence to be relied upon to make a decision on this application is in
the public record and available for review at the Warrenton Building and
