Training talk
covers how moods
affect our dogs
Cati Foss, owner of Arni-
cadia Dog Training, is the
featured speaker at a 4-H
dog seminar set for Monday,
Feb. 19. Foss will speak about
emotional well-being and
how it affects animal train-
ing.
The public is welcome to
attend. The day begins with
a youth showmanship and
rally obedience training pro-
gram led by instructor Alexis
Carter.
The program begins at 8:30
a.m., with Foss speaking at
noon, at the Clatsop County
Fairgrounds, 92937 Walluski
Loop, Astoria. No lunch will
be available for purchase on
site.

CMH names new
operations officer
Columbia Memorial Hospi-
tal named Nicole Williams its
new chief operating officer.
Williams joined the hospi-
tal in April 2017 and will as-
sume day-to-day oversight of
CMH’s operations.
Williams was raised in As-
toria and has
served
the
communi-
ty for more
than
20
years. Before
joining CMH,
she served as
the CEO of
Williams
Clatsop Care
Health District for four years,
and was with Clatsop County
government for more than 16
years. Williams holds a mas-
ter’s degree in public admin-
istration.
Williams’ position is new to
CMH and enables CEO Erik
Thorsen time to focus on
long-term goals.
