Sports festival fund-raiser open to public
Students in Clatsop Com-
munity College’s Leadership
Class have planned a sports
festival to raise money for
charity.
The event will be held ev-
ery evening from Nov. 28
through Dec. 1 in Patriot Hall.
All activities are open to the
public, ages 16 and older.
Participants are asked to
donate $2 per entry or bring
an item to donate such as
canned food, new clothes or
a new toy. Participants also
will be entered into a raffle
for prizes.
Donations will be given to
the county food bank, Clat-
sop Community Action, the
Astoria Warming Center and
Head Start.
Activities are from 6 to 8
p.m. and will include dodge-
ball on Nov. 28; basketball
on Nov. 29; indoor soccer on
Nov. 30; and capture the flag
on Dec. 1.
The sports festival is a com-
bined effort of the college’s
four Leadership classes,
which give students an op-
portunity to learn leadership
skills and participate in ser-
vice-learning projects.
