Folk and pop on
tap at Liberty
The Shook Twins, a Port-
land-based indie folk-pop
band, will appear at 7:30
p.m. Nov. 10 at the Liberty
Theater, 1203 Commercial
St., Astoria.
Identical twins Katelyn
and Laurie are the group’s
main
songwriters
and
they’re known for their har-
monies and eclectic blend of
folk, roots, groove and soul.
Also appearing will be
Bart Budwig, whose fifth
full-length record, “Paint By
Numbers Jesus,” recently
was released. It is a medi-
tation on Jesus as a cultural
figure.

High school hosts
holiday fair
A holiday shopping and
community fair is from 10
a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov.
11, in the Warrenton High
School gym.
There will be local artists,
Christmas wreaths, spa prod-
ucts and a variety of vendors.
Proceeds benefit The Har-
bor, an intervention, recov-
ery and support program, as
well as the Warrenton High
School Student Council.
Veterans Day events include art, honor, celebration
Rep. Deborah Boone will
speak at a Veterans Day event
celebrating the 242 birthday
of the Marine Corps.
The event is set for 5:30
p.m. Nov. 11 at the Asto-
ria Golf and Country Club,

Warrenton.

Clatsop Community College
rededicates Patriot Hall at
10:30 a.m. Saturday, paying
homage to its original dedica-
tion in 1921, when the build-
ing was offered in honor of all
Clatsop County soldiers.
The rededication will in-
clude elements from the orig-
inal dedication, such as mu-
sic and readings.
American Legion Post 12
will conduct a flag ceremony
and POW/MIA table ceremo-
ny. Music honoring veterans
will be performed by the Jew-
ell High School Wind Ensem-
ble, Columbia River Sympho-
ny, North Coast Chamber
Orchestra, North Coast Cho-
rale and North Coast Sym-
phonic Band.
Patriot Hall is on the Lex-
ington campus in Astoria
The ceremony will start
at 10:30 a.m. Community
members are welcome.
There will be refreshments
by Columbia Hall Café.
