New season begins
for Miss Clatsop
County program
The Miss Clatsop County
organization seeks teens and
young women interested in
the group’s programs, which
include Miss Clatsop County,
Miss North Coast, Miss Clat-
sop County’s Outstanding
Teen and Miss North Coast’s
Outstanding Teen.
The organization is open to
ages 13 to 24.
Contestants must reside,
attend school or work in Clat-
sop, Tillamook or Columbia
counties.
The nonprofit corporation
was established to give con-
testants an opportunity to
enhance their professional
and educational goals with
the assistance of monetary
grants and awards.
Miss Clatsop County is an
official preliminary competi-
tion for Miss Oregon, which
is a part of the Miss Ameri-
ca Organization, the world’s
leading scholarship provider
for women.
In 2017, Miss Clatsop Coun-
ty made more than $5,000 in
scholarships available to lo-
cal women.
Applications are available
on the group’s website, www.
missclatsopcounty.org. More
information is available by
calling 503-717-3501. Dead-
line to enter is Dec. 1.

North Coast Symphonic
Band opens its 38th sea-
son Sunday, Oct. 29, with
“Postcards from Europe,”
which showcases Europe-
an-themed wind band selec-
tions at the Liberty Theater,
1203 Commercial St.
Doors open at 1:15 p.m.
and the band program will
be preceded at 1:30 p.m. by
a performance of light jazz
by the Beach Buddies. “Post-
cards from Europe” begins at
2 p.m.

MAYOR’S TOWN HALL MEETING
Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017 – 7 PM
Mayor Henry Balensifer invites you to a Town Hall meeting on Wednes-
day, November 1, 2017, at 7 p.m., in the Commission Chambers at War-
renton City Hall, 225 S. Main Street. The purpose of the Town Hall is
to provide you an opportunity to voice your opinions and ask questions
of the Mayor and staff regarding Warrenton Library Operations and the
five-year Local Option Levy that is on the November 8 ballot (Measure
4-189). The Mayor and staff will also provide an update on City of War-
renton Park projects and a proposed amendment to the City’s Develop-
ment Code for park standards. All citizens are encouraged to attend.
Light refreshments will be served. We hope to see you on November 1!
