BROWN’ PLAYS JULY 29-30
ELGIN — Characters step out of the
comics and onto the stage in “You’re a
Good Man, Charlie Brown,” playing July
29 and 30 at the Elgin Opera House, 104
N. Eighth Ave.
Based on the “Peanuts” comic strip by
Charles M. Schulz, “You’re a Good Man,
Charlie Brown” is a high-energy Broad-
way musical following a day in the life of
Charlie Brown.
Performances are Friday, July 29,
at 2:30 p.m and Saturday, July 30, at
12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $20

ENTHUSIASTS: FIBERFEST IS
JULY 30-31
PRAIRIE CITY — Prairie City’s Fiber-
Fest, happening July 30-31, is a chance
to see projects go from raw fi ber to fi n-
ished product, and to shop for handcraft-
ed items and fi ber art-making supplies.
Fiber vendors are open 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Saturday, July 30, and 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Sunday, July 31. Throughout the week-
end, those attending can browse for free
at indoor and outdoor booths set up by
more than 30 regional vendors in the
park, Community Center and Teen Center.
Expect to fi nd fi ber goods and accesso-
ries, supplies and equipment and kits to

Workshops are off ered July 29-31.
The 23 workshops are about double the
number off ered in previous years and
are led by fi ber artists from near and far.
Workshop topics include beginning lace-
work and knitting, felted bags, gourd art,
ice-dyed T-shirts, pine needle basketry,
weaving and spinning. Workshops charge
a fee determined by the instructor. Early
signup is encouraged to guarantee a
spot, but most classes can accept same-
day registrations if not already full. For a

CHIEF JOSEPH DAYS BRINGS
RODEO ACTION TO JOSEPH
JOSEPH — Four nights of pro rodeo
action is coming to town with the 2022
Chief Joseph Days at Harley Tucker Are-
na, 405 W. Wallowa Ave.
On Friday, July 29, the Junior Parade
makes its way down Joseph’s Main
Street starting at the south end of Jo-
seph at 10 a.m. The Friday night rodeo
celebrates Western Heritage, featuring
the customs and culture of Wallowa
County.
Saturday’s Grand Parade starts at
10 a.m., followed by the friendship feast
and ceremonial dancing and drumming
next to the rodeo grounds at noon.

IRRIGON — The Rustic Truck Bar and
Grill is hosting the Watermelon Festival
After Party. The event cranks up Saturday,
July 30, 7:30 p.m. in the parking lot beer

features the Cory Peterson Band and the
Wade Aylett Band.
