Community Connection of Northeast Oregon, Inc. is seeking
general contractors for its residential Weatherization Assis-
tance Program which serves Baker, Grant, Union, and Wallowa
counties. The program funds 20 to 40 homes per year at an av-
erage cost of $20,000 per home. Typical work includes blowing
insulation in building cavities such as floors, ceilings, and ex-
terior walls, sealing ductwork, twining insulation under floors,
air sealing the building shell, and installing exhaust fans, exte-
rior doors, and windows.
To qualify, a contractor must have a Certified Lead-Based Paint
Renovation Contractor’s License and experience working on
both manufactured and site-built homes. Contractors barred
from federal contracts will not be considered eligible. Previous
weatherization installer experience is a plus, however weather-
ization trainings for contractors will be required. These train-
ings will be available to our contractors in the near future.
