Lee Friese in concert at the SAGE Center, 101 Olson Road NE, on Sunday, March 27, 4 p.m. Admission is free with dona- tions welcome. This concert, funded by the Morrow County Recreational District, features a blend of folk songs and spirituals. Selections include a celebratory piece titled “Come to the Music” by Joseph Martin, accompanied by piccolo- ist Diana Hayden of Hermiston; “Goin’ Home” from the New World Symphony by Anton Dvorak; a minstrel song titled “Ching-A- Ring-Chaw” by Aaron Copland; “The African Trilogy” by Neil Diamond; and the familiar “Bridge Over Troubled Water” by Paul Simon to be conducted by as- sociate conductor Donald Dugan, who is also the music teacher at Umatilla Middle/High School. The chorale will be accompa- nied by Myrna VanCleave, pia- nist and private piano instructor from Pendleton. The Inland Northwest Cho- rale is the Inland Northwest Musicians’ vocal ensemble, and currently rehearses in Pendle- ton. This is the Chorale’s fourth concert of the 2021- 2022 season.
