Heart of Grant County is hiring
for one full-time or two part-time
advocate positions. Advocates
provide support to victims of
domestic trauma, enable surviv-
al and healing, and encourage
healthy relationships.
Pay: $15 per-hour during
training/probationary period;
final pay rate depending on
experience.
Hours: 15-to-30 hours per-
week plus availability for on-call
to cover the hotline. 30 or more
hours will include benefits.
Requirements: High school di-
ploma or equivalent, advanced
education in social services
or related field preferred.
Experience using technology.
Valid driver’s license and have
insured transportation to trans-
port individuals. Pass a back-
ground check and drug screen.
The successful applicant will
practice positive self-care to
manage stress and possess the
flexibility to respond immediate-
ly to a crisis. Some overnight
travel may be required for
training or meetings.
Duties: Direct services and ad-
vocacy to survivors of domestic
violence and abuse, sexual
assault, adult and teen dating
violence, and stalking accord-
ing to the guidelines of the
agency and federal and state
grant requirements. Accompa-
ny survivors to legal, medical
and any other appointments
as requested. Provide gener-
al information about support
services to friends and families,
present educational programs,
help distribute educational
materials and contact informa-
tion for assistance, engage in
social media outreach, attend
and engage in approved
trainings. Must always maintain
confidentially and privacy of
clients. Respond effectively and
appropriately while working with
stressful and crisis situations.
Project empathy and support
without disclosing personal his-
tory. Work with a broad range
of people coming from diverse
backgrounds and life experienc-
es without making judgements.
Work independently and with
others.
