1.0 FTE, ALCOHOL AND
DRUG COUNSELOR in John
Day, Oregon. Located near the
stunning Painted Hills, John
Day is a wonderful place to

We are looking for someone
who understands the complex-
ity of addiction and is willing
to help change the lives of
individuals battling this disease
by providing client centered
individual, group, and family
therapy and education.
•This position requires a high
school diploma and the ability
to become state certified as an
Alcohol and Drug Evaluation
Specialist (CADC) within 18
months of employment.
•Those recovering from a
substance use disorder must
be able to document continuous
abstinence from drugs and/or
alcohol for a period of at least
2 years.
•Successful applicants must
have a valid Oregon Driver’s
license, $300,000 in personal
auto insurance and $100,000
for bodily injury and property
damage, and must be able to
pass a criminal background
check.
•Wages for this position range
from $17.60 to $25.00 an hour,

Salary/Benefits: $22.87 per
hour with full county benefits
Job Duties: Works coopera-
tively with other members of the
department’s road maintenance
crew. Perform a wide variety
of road maintenance and con-
struction tasks.
Applicants must be able to
read and write, communicate
effectively, understand plans
and profiles from approved
construction drawings, follow
instructions and work effectively
on an independent basis, or
work cooperatively, as part of a
team. Basic knowledge of work-
place safety standards, general
equipment maintenance, and
radio communications is pre-
ferred. This position is expected
to operate a variety of road
maintenance and construction
equipment including pickups,
dump trucks, snowplow, truck/
trailer combinations, brooms,
loaders, graders, backhoes
and rollers, and use a variety of
hand and power tools.
Screening Requirements:
Applicants must hold a valid
Class-A Oregon Commercial
Driver’s License. At least 3
years of experience is required
in general maintenance and
construction work including use
of construction equipment and
tools, equivalent training or sat-
isfactory combination of training
and experience required to
perform the essential func-
tions of the job. The applicant
selected will be required to pass
a pre-employment drug test and
criminal background check.
