GIVING BACK
Blue Mountain Eagle
B25
The Grant County Snowballers club was formed in the late
‘60s primarily as a “racing” club. In fact, one of the original
members, John Saunders, from Seneca, is now in his
nineties and participated in a race two years ago! We are a
Grant County based club representing about 70 families in
the area. We can be reached through our website,
grantcountysnowballers.com, or at PO Box 337, John Day,
Or., 97845.
This year our president is Tim Nodine and the vice president/
grooming chairman is Garrett Carniglia. The director at large
for our district of the Oregon Snowmobile Association is
Dave Hannibal and Tim R. Holly is the director of district 6
OSSA.
Our club has two grooming machines and we have more
miles of groomed trails here in the county than any other
county in the country! We have a great team of volunteer
drivers that keep the trails open and safe for all the folks that
like to experience our beautiful country during snow season.
Our primary mission is to provide training for new
snowmobilers in the safe operation of their sleds, have fun
activities for the group and provide a place to ride.
