QUICK TAKES A BRIEF LOOK AT WHAT’S HAPPENING IN EASTERN OREGON GAMES RETURN TO SENIOR CENTER LA GRANDE — In-person ac- tivities are resuming at the Union County Senior Center, 1504 N. Albany St., La Grande. The center is again hosting pinochle games on Tuesdays at 1 p.m. More pi- nochle opportunities are offered on Thursdays: 12 Aces Pinochle is on the second and fourth Thursday of the month at 1 p.m., and Sassy Senior Pinochle is on the third Thursday of the month, also at 1 p.m. Bingo games are on Tuesday evening. Doors open at 5 p.m., bingo tickets are sold begin- ning at 5:30 p.m., and the games start at 6 p.m. All are welcome. Proceeds benefit Union County senior programs including Meals on Wheels. FALL TRAIN RIDES SET ABOARD EAGLE CAP EXCURSION, SUMPTER VALLEY RAILROAD ELGIN, SUMPTER — The Eagle Cap Excursion Train has added more rides to its fall schedule: Oct. 16, 20 23, 30 and Nov. 6.
