Magazine L A GRANDE, BAKER CITY — After a season of just one concert, the Grande Ronde Symphony has plans for several in-person performances for the 2021-2022 season. “We’re back and able to perform live and in person,” said Alice Trindle, president of the Grande Ronde Symphony As- sociation. The symphony held its fi rst rehearsal on Sept. 29. The new policy is that all musicians must be vaccinated or be a student at Eastern Oregon University who is fulfi lling EOU’s health and safety protocols. Also, masks are required at all times for those playing string instruments and percussion, and when not playing for the wind and brass musicians. “We are all just so delighted to get back and play together,” Trindle said. The fi rst concert is planned for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, at McKenzie Theatre on the EOU campus in La Grande. The symphony’s second concert is at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, at St. Francis de Sales Cathe- dral in Baker City. Masks will be required to attend. The featured artist at both concerts is Molly Trindle, win- ner of the 2021 Concerto+Aria Competition in the open cat- egory for instrumentalists who live in Oregon, Idaho or Wash- ington. She will play Concerto in C for oboe and orchestra by Mozart.
