Days / Hours: Monday–Friday -
40 hours per week
Salary/Benefits: $4,180 per
month with county benefits
Job Duties: Counsel and
supervise juveniles on an
informal disposition agreement
or formal probation; coordinate
and oversee the department’s
community service and resti-
tution programs. An employee
in this classification counsels
and supervises juveniles on
informal disposition agreement
or formal probation. In addition,
the incumbent is responsible for
coordinating the juvenile com-
munity service and restitution
programs.
Work Environment: Work is
performed in both a general
office environment and in the
field performing such things as
supervising community service
work crews and transporting
juveniles. The position may
require bending, hearing voice
conversation, keyboarding,
lifting up to 50 pounds, reaching
and walking and may require
physically restraining angry and
hostile juveniles. The position
requires working closely with
juveniles and their families
who may be emotional and/or
difficult. The position shares a
24-hour “on-call” responsibility
to respond to situations con-
cerning juveniles.
Screening Requirements:
Bachelors’ degree in social ser-
vices and or satisfactory equiv-
alent combination of experience
and training which insures the
ability to perform the duties of
the position. Possession of, or
ability to obtain, a valid Oregon
Driver’s license and must be
insurable under the county’s
liability coverage. Must have an
acceptable criminal back-
ground and must maintain this
qualification at all times during
employment. A criminal back-
ground check will be conducted
on the candidate selected.
