JOSEPH — The Wallowa
Valley Festival of the Arts is this
weekend, Sept. 17-19. The 39th
annual festival goes on with a
few public health modifications.
The display of nearly 100 pieces
of artwork opens Friday, Sept.
17, at the Josephy Center for
Arts and Culture, 403 N. Main
St., Joseph, with in-person
viewing from 7-8:30 p.m. (masks
and social distancing required).
The display is open to the public
also on Saturday and Sunday
beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday

PENDLETON — The 111th
version of the Pendleton
Round-Up offers a variety of
cowboy and Native American
culture experiences, rodeos,
music, food and shopping —
going on now through Saturday,
Sept. 18 in Pendleton. For all
the details and each day’s full
WALLOWA COUNTY — Wal-
lowology’s free Discovery Walks
of the season end Sept. 25. On
Fridays, easy to moderate hikes
depart from trailheads at 9 a.m.
These Discovery Walks are limited
to 10 people and pre-registration
is required by emailing info@wal-
lowology.org. On Sept. 17, meet at
the end of Wallowa Lake Highway
351 for a hike along the BC Falls
Trail. On Sept. 24, hike the Hur-
ricane Creek Trail after meeting at
the end of Hurricane Creek Road.
The final Saturday Discovery
Walk will be on Sept. 25. On Sept.
17 and 25, gather at 9 a.m. in the
Wallowa Lake Lodge lobby for
a family-friendly nature walk ex-
ploring the area around the lake.
Pre-registration isn’t needed for
Saturday walks.
All hikes are guided, led by
Judy Swank or Charla Lower.
Masks are required. Participants
are asked to wear sturdy walking
shoes and bring water but leave
their dogs at home.
