New art classes for the fall at
Crossroads Carnegie Art Center

AKER CITY — Crossroads
Carnegie Art Center is
already planning fall art classes.
Those interested are encour-
aged to register in advance at
www.crossroads-arts.org. All
classes are held at the center,
2020 Auburn Ave. Here’s a look
at the off erings:
INTRODUCTION TO
CELTIC KNOTWORK
Ginger Rembold will introduce
students to the style of Celtic
knotwork designs in a class on
Thursday, Sept. 16, from 6-8 p.m.
The process is fairly simple and
can be used to make personal-
ized cards and posters or as a
meditative practice. Cost is $16
for Crossroads members, $24
nonmembers.
BALLET
Debbie Friedman will teach
three diff erent levels of ballet
classes this fall. Classes run
from 4-5 p.m. Cost is $64 mem-
bers, $96 nonmembers.
• Ballet I, for ages 6-8: Tues-
days, Sept. 21-Nov. 9
• Ballet II, for ages 6-8 with pre-
vious experience: Wednes-
days, Sept. 22-Nov. 10
• Ballet II, for all dancers age 9
and older: Thursdays, Sept.
23-Nov. 11
KALEIDOSCOPE
YOUR NAME
Rembold will lead this class
on Thursday, Oct. 21, from
6-8 p.m. Participants will learn
an easy process to turn a name
(or favorite phrase) into wall art.
Bring a regular and fi ne-tip black
Sharpie, and a coloring medium
such as felt pens, crayons or
colored pencils. Cost is $16
for Crossroads members, $24
nonmembers.
All ages are welcome, although
children younger than 12 must be
accompanied by an adult.
NO-SEW BANNERS AND
WALL HANGINGS
Rembold will lead this class on
Thursday, Nov. 18, from 6-8 p.m.
She’ll show how to turn fabric
scraps into colorful wall hangings
with iron-on adhesive. All bond-
ing materials will be provided,
plus plenty of fabric (although
participants are encouraged to
bring their own as well). Cost is
$16 members, $24 nonmembers.
There is also a $5 supply fee.
The class is for all ages,
although children younger than
12 must be accompanied by
an adult.
